• Kerala Ghee Rice (Ney Choru)

    Rice roasted and cooked with ghee and spices. Quick, easy and delicious Malabar style rice preparation. It goes well with spicy nonveg/veg curry.

  • Kerala Style Mutton Stew

    Mutton simmered in coconut milk with onion, ginger- garlic and spices. Appam with Mutton Stew is one of my favorite breakfast. Great combination with Idiyappam, puttu and bread also.

  • Fish Biriyani (Kerala Style)

    An Indian one pot meal. Fish marinated, fried, cooked in spicy masala gravy and then layered with rice. A really delicious one 🙂 I used pomfret which turned out awesome. You can also try seer fish or king fish.

    Appam with fish molee is a favorite of every malayalee. An all time dream breakfast!! Fish simmered in coconut milk with onion, ginger- garlic, pepper and tomatoes. It goes well with Idiyappam and bread also. This recipe is adapted from my mom-in-law. One of my favorite recipe from her collection. P

    Quick, easy and delicious!! It is an Indian rice based dish with good flavor of veggies and spices. It goes well with pretty much every gravy based side dish. I usually serve it with chicken curry or paneer butter masala.

    Inspired from Nirmala’s Caramel Apple n Pecan Trifle with some minor tweaks. A very very delicious pudding!! It is full of all the flavors you love when you mix caramel, apples, spices and vanilla pudding. A super duper easy one!

  • Coorg / Kodava style Pork / Pandi curry

    Rich dark pork curry filled with slightly chewy bits of meat and sudden surprises of  tamarind and peppery bits. I have always been fond of my aunt’s Pork curry which she learned from a Coorgi  friend. I gave an attempt and it came out delicious 🙂 It goes well with ‘akki roti’ (rice roti) or ‘kadam

    This recipe goes really well with rice or rotis… you can just as easily substitute fresh mushrooms with canned ones (as i have done here) and the veggies can be frozen too! its easy to whip up quickly, when your running low on fresh produce in ur fridge! 🙂
